Revisiting past recordings – “Pieces” by In Its Wake
Wanted to revive this track a little bit. I did this track with In Its Wake back in 2006. It consisted of tracking entirely in a small basement studio with a Yamaha O1V and a whole bunch of SM57′s. While listening too it I remembered how much I enjoyed making this track, (listen to the groove these guys have going on!) so I wanted to revive it a little bit and put it back out there. I’m thinking that I might re-mix it within the next couple of months.. or leave it as it is, what do you think?
I am currently working on a new full length album titled “Vacancy” with vocalist Jamie Nudds formerly of In Its Wake. Check out Jamie and get updates at www.myspace.com/jamienudds
Enjoy

Quick Update
Just wanted to spend a minute while I have it to do a quick update to let everyone know there is lots of cool stuff on the go right now, and some great songs coming to you soon.
I am currently in the studio with some very cool and talented people. Singer/Songwriter Duane Lauzon and I are currently working on a great summer single titled “Everything Is Golden”. This will be his first professional release and it is a very promising one.
Singer/Songwriter Spencer Teeter and I are in the beginning stages of his debut Full Length that will be released through Ocean Front Records in New York, they have also got a summer/fall USA tour book beginning late summer of this year.
Irish/Celtic Acoustic group The MacNificents have been in the studio working on a new full length. Removing the heavy rhythm section, the group have decided on a more laid back groove using various percussion.
The album with Jamie Nudds is coming together very well, however a little slower than anticipated. So much to do but we’ve made a big dent in the workload so far. Lots of really fabulous musicians are ready to be involved in this project so we are really looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.
Currently John Tayles and I are making final revisions to the mixes before they go to mastering. There has been a slight delay as John was scheduled to be in LA the past two weeks. When he returns we will be finishing the final revisions, shouldn’t be long now!
As I write this Les Holmes is on the floor rolling through a handful of demos in preparation of his second album that will likely be starting sometime winter of this year.
SIX’s new album has been very well received so far, big things for this group in the near future.
I can’t even explain the great feeling I get when I hear “Kings and Queens” by Thirty Seconds To Mars (Virgin/EMI) being used in so many promotions for various events and releases.. iPad, World Cup and a movie trailer come to mind. I’m proud to have been a part of that.
That’s about all for now, its been a busy summer, now back to work!
SIX CD Release Concert was a huge success!
I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to make the SIX CD release concert so amazing for the group. It was a wonderful night consisting of 15 great songs and two encores!
Below is a photo pre-show of The Grand Theatre. An ambitious sized venue that the group managed to almost, if not, sell out completely (still waiting on the ticket count).
Although the theatre doesn’t allow cameras unless you pay obscene union fees, I managed to snap a few little videos on my phone. Here SIX performs a snippet of “Lift Me Up” and “When You Are Old”
Immediately following the performance, SIX made their way over to the lobby to do an autograph signing on their new album “Swept Away” for hundreds of fans lined up eager to get their copy!
